Loretta Pietrowicz Lands Administrative Assistant Job

After looking for work for five months, PSGCNJ Marketing & Events Committee member, Loretta Pietrowicz, recently landed a job as an Administrative Assistant working for Schwan-STABILO Cosmetics in Piscataway. She started on November 25th.

PSGCNJ helped Loretta with her job search by providing her with support when she was “feeling down and out.” Loretta says she felt more comfortable looking for work and going on interviews after she finished participating in our Accelerated Career Training (ACT) program and our Advanced Résumé Review, which helped her improve her résumé.

In the past, despite trying everything to find a job, Loretta admits nothing she did was working. Like most of us, she sent her résumés to companies, but never heard anything back. Then, she took our advanced résumé review class; and, boom; suddenly she started hearing from recruiters.

So, how did Loretta actually land her new job?

First, she sent her résumé to some staffing agencies in her area. Then, she reviewed postings for certain jobs and filled out online applications. After that, a staffing agency, that she worked with earlier, saw her résumé and called her. The agency set up an interview. Within two days, she had an offer to work as a direct hire for her new company.

New to the Marketing & Events Committee, Loretta says she would have learned a lot more from the group if she had had the opportunity to work the committee a little longer.

Her advice to those still looking for work: don’t give up. Do whatever it takes to find a job. Use the Internet, do some networking, use Recruiters, staffing agencies, in short, do anything to find a job.

Good luck, Loretta! Remember to come back and visit us!
