Alex Freund answers question, “Why can’t I get that job?”

By Fran Sullivandetermination

Your story is a familiar one. You’ve been laid off. Now you spend your days researching jobs online. You work diligently to adapt your résumé and cover letter to every position’s job requirements. When you’re done, you send it off to the black hole of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), then – nothing. You’re left asking yourself, “Why can’t I get that job?”

Career Coach Alex Freund will answer that very question when he talks to the PSGCNJ membership during a presentation on Monday, February 10th.

Known as “the landing expert,” Freund is an effective, successful Career Coach who specializes in preparing clients for interviews. In his PSGCNJ presentation, he will discuss the following issues:

  • What Recruiters are looking for in résumés
  • The role discrimination plays in hiring decisions
  • Unwritten little secrets about hiring
  • Explanations of the various interview types
  • Tricks and traps job seekers encounter

Besides working as a Career Coach, Freund is also prominent in several on-and-off-line job-search networking groups. He conducts workshops on effective résumé development and use of LinkedIn.com in the job-search process. He also teaches a career development seminar and publishes a blog designed especially for job seekers. Prior to becoming a Career Coach, he managed several large departments in two Fortune 100 companies.

For those live in the Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the New York City area, Freund publishes a free directory of job-search networking groups.
