People looking for a job or a better job, can tap into AARP’s online job fair from 10 AM to 2 PM EDT on September 23rd for a chance to talk to recruiters, view job openings, attend live chats with career coaches and download resources for later study.
The AARP Virtual Center Fair will include representatives from 20 companies throughout the U.S. All employers have job openings, and all have pledged that they value experienced workers.
“Finding a job in a tight market is never easy, and it’s especially rough on people 50 and older. But we know that experienced workers bring so much to an employer”, said Nancy LeaMond, an AARP executive vice president.
During the online session, applicants can “meet” one-on-one with recruiters. This is “one of the best features of our online career fair,” LeaMond said, “is that participants can download job search resources to review at their own pace instead of rushing from booth to booth.”
AARP’s first Virtual Career Fair in June attracted more than 2,500 job seekers. Participants need Internet access. Register at aarp virtual job fair
